Katherine Torres once again demonstrated what it means to “Serve Others First” by leading the Monterey Park Women’s Club Annual New Member Tea on Friday, October 17, 2025 — a cherished local tradition that welcomes new members into one of Monterey Park’s most historic and impactful community organizations.
A Legacy of Service Since 1915
Founded over a century ago, the Monterey Park Women’s Club is the city’s oldest service club — established in 1915 as part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and the California Federation of Women’s Clubs. The organization brings together women who share a passion for community service, leadership, and fellowship, hosting countless charitable programs that support local schools, civic improvement projects, and causes such as domestic violence awareness, women’s health, and youth education.
As the Club’s president for the past eight years, Katherine Torres has carried forward this proud legacy with energy, compassion, and vision — uniting women of all backgrounds to make a tangible difference in Monterey Park.

Rachel shared, “This is my first time getting involved with a community organization like this, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity. I want to grow not just in my career, but as a person — by giving back to others.”
